Why Oil and Gas Buyers Choose Inherent FR Coveralls
Workers in oil fields, refineries, and petrochemical plants face flash fire and arc flash risks every day. A garment that provides reliable
protection in those conditions needs to do more than pass a test when it is new. It needs to perform consistently throughout its working life.
Inherent FR fabrics are the only type that guarantee this. The flame resistance is part of the fibre structure, not a surface coating that wears away with use and washing.
What makes inherent FR the right choice for oil and gas
- Protection that does not wash out. Inherent FR fibers cannot lose their flame resistance no matter how many times the garment is cleaned.
Treated FR garments have a wash cycle limit after which protection cannot be guaranteed. - Passes the highest performance levels of EN ISO 11612. Inherent FR fabrics consistently achieve the top performance classifications for heat and flame exposure.
- Meets site safety requirements. Most major oil companies and petrochemical operators specify inherent FR as the minimum standard for
workers in hazardous zones. - Longer garment life. Because the protection does not degrade, inherent FR garments last significantly longer than treated alternatives. The higher upfront cost is offset over time.
- Antistatic properties are included. Our Nomex and Kevlar coveralls also meet EN 1149-5, which covers protection against electrostatic discharge.
This is a standard requirement on most oil and gas sites.

Certifications and Compliance
Buyers sourcing workwear for oil and gas operations need documentation they can present to their clients, HSE teams, and auditors. We provide full compliance paperwork with every order.
- EN ISO 11612 – Protection against heat and flame. The primary standard for FR workwear in Europe and the Middle East.
- EN 1149-5 – Antistatic protective clothing. Required on most oil and gas sites where static discharge could ignite flammable atmospheres.
- WRAP – Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production. Covers factory conditions, labour practices, and ethical manufacturing.
- BSCI / Amfori – Business Social Compliance Initiative. Required by many European buyers as part of their supply chain standards.
- OEKO-TEX – Confirms that fabrics and dyes used in production are free from harmful substances.
- SEDEX – Supply chain transparency and ethical trade audit standard.
Test reports and factory audit documents are available on request before you place an order. We do not ask buyers to commit to production before they have reviewed the paperwork.
Markets We Supply
We manufacture FR coveralls for buyers across five regions. Each market has its own compliance requirements, and we are familiar with all of them.
- Middle East – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman. Oil and gas is the primary sector. We export with full GCC import documentation.
- Europe – Germany, Netherlands, Norway, UK, and wider EU markets. EN ISO compliance is mandatory, and our production meets it.
- United States and Canada – We supply North American importers and distributors with FR programs for the oil patch and industrial sector.
- Australia – Mining and resources sector buyers sourcing certified FR garments for remote site operations.
How We Work With Oil and Gas Buyers
Most of our oil and gas clients start with a sample order before committing to a full program. We encourage this. It lets the industrial workwear clients physically test the garment, verify the fabric, and confirm the fit before any large production run is agreed.
1. Send us your spec. Share the garment style, fabric weight, certification requirements, and any branding details. If you do not have a full spec yet, we can help you build one.
2. We confirm pricing and timeline. You receive a detailed quote covering fabric options, production cost, lead time, and minimum
quantities.
3. Sample production. We make a physical sample to your spec. You test it, review it, and request any changes before bulk production begins.
4. Bulk production. Manufacturing starts after sample sign-off. You receive production updates at key stages. In-line quality checks happen throughout, not just at the end.
5. Final inspection and export. AQL inspection is completed before shipment. Third-party inspection is available on request. Full export documentation is provided.
Common Questions from Oil and Gas Buyers
Do your FR coveralls meet the requirements of major oil companies?
Our garments are produced to EN ISO 11612 and EN 1149-5, which are the standards specified by most major oil and gas operators, including Shell, BP, Total, Aramco, and ADNOC-approved suppliers. We can provide test reports and certification documentation for your HSE team to review before you commit to an order.
Can you match our existing coverall colour and specification?
Yes. If you send us a sample garment or a detailed spec sheet, we can match fabric weight, colour, pocket layout, reflective tape placement, and sizing. We use Pantone colour matching for all custom colour orders.
What is the lead time for a large FR coverall order?
For a standard order of 500 to 2,000 pieces, production typically runs 45 to 60 days from sample approval. Larger orders or orders requiring custom fabric development may take longer. Every quote includes a specific production timeline so you can plan your supply programme.
Do you produce FR coveralls in orange for offshore workers?
Yes. High-visibility orange is one of our standard colour options for FR coveralls. It is commonly specified for offshore platforms, vessel
crews, and emergency response teams. We can produce in orange with or without additional hi-vis panels depending on your site requirements.
Can we order FR coveralls with our company logo and branding?
Yes. All garments are produced under your brand. We handle custom woven labels, embroidered logos, printed labels, and branded packaging. Bengal Apparel BD branding does not appear on your product at any point.
What is the difference between EN ISO 11612 and NFPA 2112?
EN ISO 11612 is the European and internationally recognised standard for protective clothing against heat and flame. NFPA 2112 is the North American standard used primarily in the USA and Canada. Both standards test for similar protection levels but use different test methods and performance thresholds.
If you are supplying into European, Middle East, or Australian markets, EN ISO 11612 is the standard you need. If you are supplying into North American markets, you will likely need NFPA 2112 compliance. We can produce to both standards depending on your destination market. Confirm your market at the quoting stage and we will advise the correct certification path.
Is there a minimum order for a first trial order?
Our standard MOQ is 500 pieces per style and color for this program. For new buyers wanting to run a trial before committing to a full program, contact us with your requirements, and we will advise what is possible based on your specific garment and fabric needs.
