FR Workwear Europe Bangladesh: Standards We Build To
We settle the standard and the certification route before production starts. These are the requirements we work to most often for European programmes.
EN ISO 11612 for heat and flame. This is the core standard for FR garments protecting against brief contact with flame, radiant and convective heat, and molten metal splash. We build garments from inherently flame-resistant fabrics such as Nomex and Kevlar blends, or from treated FR fabrics. Performance codes (A1, B, C, D, E, F) are specified in your tech pack, so the garment you approve matches the protection your wearers need.
EN ISO 20471 for high visibility. We produce Class 1, 2 and 3 garments, with background fabric colour, retroreflective tape and minimum visible material area fixed before sampling. Combined FR and hi-vis garments are available when a single garment must carry both protections.

CE Marking: How It Works for Garments from Bangladesh
Under the EU PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, FR and hi-vis garments are classed as Category II PPE. This requires EU type-examination by a notified body, plus a declaration of conformity and the correct marking on each garment. Arc-rated garments fall under a stricter category with ongoing production surveillance.
In practice, the route runs like this:
- We agree the standard and performance codes with you.
- Pre-production samples go to the notified body you choose, or one we recommend.
- Once the certificate is issued, bulk production follows the approved specification.
- Each garment carries the CE mark, standard reference, size information and care label. The user information leaflet travels with the goods.
Your own responsibilities as an importer, including the declaration of conformity, importer details on the product and record keeping, depend on how you place the goods on the market. Confirm them with your notified body or compliance adviser. We supply the technical file inputs, test reports and production records that support your documentation. How a European Programme Runs

2. Fabric and sampling. We source certified fabric, trims and retroreflective tape, then produce samples in 2 to 3 weeks.
3. Testing and certification. Samples go to the notified body and test labs of your choice, so approvals carry weight with your customers and auditors.
4. Bulk production. Production runs 45 to 90 days, with three-stage inline quality control and AQL final inspection agreed with you in advance.
5. Export. We quote FOB Chittagong and prepare the documents your forwarder and customs broker need.
